Books On Tour was founded in 2017 under the Just Write For Kids umbrella as an initiative to support Australian authors and illustrators in launching their new children’s and YA books into the virtual blogosphere. The aim is to create a big buzz around the book making its entrance into the world through a range of fun and engaging promotional content and activities.
For me, it’s a real thrill connecting with the book creator and working closely with them to be able to personalise the experience according to their needs and interests. Each book campaign is different in terms of its length, what is produced and the level of participation. With a multitude of possibilities, including reviews, interviews, videos, book photography, educational activities, giveaways, even social media events, the development and organisation of the blog campaigns are full on, but always exciting!
It’s important to stay well connected with the wonderful professional associates and also to strive to secure new partners so that each package is unique and fresh.
For the creator, this publicity serves as an effective way to help the community learn more about them, as well as increasing exposure to their book. The author / illustrator has the opportunity to share their inspirations, their journey and the process into creating their book. The campaign focuses on the creator as a ‘brand’ whilst introducing their newest release and its capabilities.
In sharing and celebrating newly released titles, a buzz of excitement is generated around these books and their creators, easily accessible online from anywhere in the world. Now everyone can join in the magic of a book launch!
